Ron’s father is a director, actor, and writer. Ron came from a family involved in the entertainment industry. Even his younger brother Clint Howard is a successful actor.

Ron’s family then relocated to Hollywood, California in 1958 and lived there for over three years before relocating to Burbank. Talking about Ron’s educational background, he graduated from John Burroughs High School before joining the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California.
