Pescow began her acting career in 1977 when she played Annette in Saturday Night Fever film by John Travolta. Pescow had to relearn her Brooklyn accent which she had forgotten for professional reasons to best fit the role.

In the same year, Pescow began acting, she was cast in One Life to Live, an ABC soap opera. The role was brief lasting less than a year, but it helped the actress to launch her television career. In later years, she had more ABC roles in soap operas.

Pescow continued to feature in more films, including Rainbow directed by Jackie Cooper, where she played one of Judy Garland’s older sisters in 1978. From 1979 to 1980, Donna starred in her television series Angie.
