Early Life
Donna Pescow was born on March 24, 1954, in the Brooklyn area of New York. She grew up in a Jewish family, and her father owned and ran a newsstand in Manhattan. Pescow joined Sheepshead Bay High School in Brooklyn and graduated later, joining the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Career and Success
Pescow began her acting career in 1977 when she played Annette in Saturday Night Fever film by John Travolta. Pescow had to relearn her Brooklyn accent which she had forgotten for professional reasons to best fit the role.
In the same year, Pescow began acting, she was cast in One Life to Live, an ABC soap opera. The role was brief lasting less than a year, but it helped the actress to launch her television career. In later years, she had more ABC roles in soap operas.
Pescow continued to feature in more films, including Rainbow directed by Jackie Cooper, where she played one of Judy Garland’s older sisters in 1978. From 1979 to 1980, Donna starred in her television series Angie.
While Pescow was featuring in film and television roles she became more recognized for television roles. She appeared in films like NYPD Blue, Ivory Tower, Clueless, and Pauly among others.
In 1999 the actress was contacted by Disney to appear in a half-hour youth sitcom. The pilot was filmed in 2000 and it led to the series Even Stevens. The actress featured in the three seasons which aired from 2000 to 2003 and also directed three episodes of the series.
After Even Stevens, the actress took breaks from acting. After several years, she featured in the film One Sung Hero starring Nicole Sullivan. She also took another break before she appeared in an episode of Crossing Jordan in 2006.
