Rob Zombie was born on January 12 1965 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He is the brother of Spider One a lead singer of the rock group Power Man. After high school, he enrolled at Parsons School of Design, and worked as a production assistant on a TV show called ‘Pee-wee’s Playhouse’.

He met Sean Yselt, a co-founder of white zombie, while at Parsons. They dated from 1984 but broke up in 1991 though they continued to work together. In 1993 he met Sheri Moon, an actress, and married in 2002 at Grace Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. He has a home in Los Angeles and a farmhouse in Connecticut where they shelter rescued farm animals. His compassion for animals turned him vegan. He changed his name legally, in 1996, from Robert Bartleh Cummings to Rob Zombie.

He sold his house in Los Angeles for $3.5 million in 2014.

His band name, white zombie, was from the 1932 horror film ‘White Zombie’ while his name Rob Zombie is from a character in the film ‘God of Thunder’.

Rob customized his 1967 Ford F100 with graphics from his album artwork and zombie headlights to use for his Mayhem Tour. His public image is unique because of his large beard, long hair, horror-themed makeup, and transgressive fashion sense.
