Zakk Wylde is an American singer, songwriter, occasional actor, and multi-instrumentalist who has a net worth of 16 million dollars. Zakk was the founder and lead guitarist of the band Black Label Society. Besides, he is known as the lead guitarist for the British musician and media personality Ozzy Osbourne.
Early Life and Education
Zakk was born in Bayonne, New Jersey. He began playing the guitar at eight but was not passionate about it. However, at 14, he began showing interest in music, especially playing musical instruments. After elementary and middle school, he proceeded to Jackson Memorial High School. While in high school, Zakk Wylde loved playing the guitar; he would play it on his way home and back to school every day.
Career
Over the years, Zakk Wylde has worked with various artists and bands. In his early music career, he was part of the bands Stone Henge and Zyris. After learning that Ozzy Osbourne was looking for a lead guitarist, Zakk auditioned for the role, which he got in 1987. He went on several tours with the artists, and they performed songs such as Ozzmosis, No More Tears, and No Rest for the Wicked.
Zakk worked with Ozzy Osbourne until 1992 when he left to seek other opportunities. He returned in 2001, worked together in 2009, left, and then returned in 2017. He still performs as the lead guitarist of Ozzy Osbourne.
Pride & Glory
In his early career, Zakk mostly worked with Ozzy Osbourne, and during their 1991 tour, Zakk decided to form his own band. The band worked together for about three years before disbanding in 1994. This project was the reason why Zakk left Ozzy Osbourne in 1992; he wanted to focus on his own band and career. After the band was disbanded, Zakk went on to perform as a solo artist; he was able to release some albums.
Black Label Society
In 1998, Zakk formed the metal band Black Label Society. He was the band’s lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter.
